Satisfactory is a multiplayer automation sandbox game in which players are challenged to design logistical and assembly systems through exponentially increasing levels of demand in terms of both volume and complexity of product.
In early phases, teams will work largely undirected, and may build chaotic systems that cannot realistically be expanded to meet the demands of future phases. Teams will reflect on what’s working and what’s not, and will be encouraged to come up with strategies for anticipating and managing expanding demand load. In so doing they will learn how to think about large, complex systems: decomposition, organization, and planning for change.
Besides learning how to approach complex systems, they will learn how to function as a team. They will need to split up tasks, reach consensus on design decisions, and navigate disagreement. They might also learn valuable personal lessons about how they work and learn.
